Synchro revision

The technical package has been revised to add the Beginner 1 category to synchro eligibilities. This category, designed for entry level synchro teams, has no age restrictions, and was added to match Skate Canada categories.

Volunteer Opportunity – Mission Staff for Team Newfoundland and Labrador

The Department of Tourism, Culture and Recreation is seeking enthusiastic, experienced people to serve as volunteer Mission Staff for the 2011 Canada Winter Games, being held February 11-27, 2011 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Joey Russell 10th at Skate Canada

Joey Russell competed at the 2009 HomeSense Skate Canada International in Kitchener, Ontario – his first Grand Prix assignment. His total of 168.71 was a personal best in international competition and was placed 10th.

Pairs torch lift!

Ashley Bishop and Miranda Walsh of Mount Pearl SC, Matthew Young of Silver Blades, and Danielle Drover of Port aux Basques FSC were Olympic torch bearers as the torch passed through the province.

Technical Package

Minor revisions have been made to the technical package, clarifying eligibilities for synchronized skating, Regionals, Provincials and Winter Games. All clubs and officials should ensure they are using the current version.

2010 BMO Skate Canada Newfoundland & Labrador Sectionals

At the 2010 BMO Financial Group Sectionals hosted by the Conception Bay North FSC. Julia Mercer won the BMO Financial Group Merit award for the 2nd consecutive year, and Ashley Morgan won the Polaris Artistic Cup. Full Results now on-line.
