Kaitlyn Weaver & Andrew Poje

Kaitlyn Weaver & Andrew Poje

Kaitlyn Weaver & Andrew Poje's partnership began in August 2006. Since then, the on-ice union has flourished with bronze medals at three international events, including the 2007 World Junior Championships. Kaitlyn and Andrew surprised everyone, including themselves, when they won the bronze medal at the 2007 Canadian National Championships and earned a berth to the (senior) World Championships in Tokyo, Japan. In 2008 they moved up to silver at Canadians and impressed at their second world championships.

Kaitlyn and Andrew are now coached by Shae-Lynn Bourne and Mathew Gates and are training in Toronto, Ontario and Montclair, New Jersey. They are thrilled to be able to travel to Beijing and Tokyo (for the second time!) for their Grand Prix assignments this year!

Kaitlyn previously competed with Charles Clavey for the United States and finshed 4th in junior dance, at the 2006 US Nationals. Weaver and Poje were able to compete on the Junior Grand Prix circuit in the 2006/2007 season, winning two bronze medals.

Andrew's first ice dance parter was Alexandra Nino. He then competed with Alice Graham, finishing third at the Junior Canadian Championships in 2005, and 9th at the 2006 Senior Canadian Championships.

Not knowing where their next performances will take them, Kaitlyn and Andrew continue to soak in every experience and remain focussed on improving their skating skills and raising the bar for themselves.
