Club of the week - March 16

Fallsview Figure Skating Club, Bishop's Falls

What a way to start a new season! FFSC has grown considerably. This year, 2008-2009, we have registered 94 skaters. Considerably up from last season. With a new, determined and enthusiastic executive in place there are many new and exciting ideas being brought forward. As we work together to make this club a wonderful club to be part of and a great place to learn.

A new program for Fallsview Figure Skating Club is the introduction of the Canskate Competitive for Canskate stages 5, 6, and 7. Our coach and executive are excited with this addition. We, along with our skaters and parents, look forward to upcoming competitions. Our coach, Jill Blake, is working very hard with our skaters and we are very lucky to have her.

For the first time, we managed to start our season a little earlier and have been going strong ever since. With all the problems we encountered last season, the stadium being down and having to scrounge for ice time in other arenas, we certainly have come to a new beginning and hopefully a wonderful future. We also offered new jackets and or hoodies to our skaters, in a new and improved color. A fresh start to an enthusiastic season.

Our club is in the process of practicing for the ice show, which takes place in Bishop's Falls on April 7th, 2009. We have a few surprises in store this year and we will also be incorporating Bishop's Falls 100th Anniversary. What a "celebration"!

Our Program Assistants and Coach certainly have had their hands full this year and they are very much appreciated by all of us. They work very hard to keep their groups interested. New skaters learned to move around the ice very quickly this year and we know that the PA's played a very important role with this.

Fallsview Figure Skating Club is on their way.
