The Mount Pearl Paradise Skating Club is looking for a coach for the Adult Starlites Synchronized Skating team.The Club invites applications from qualified skating coaches interested in working with our skaters and coaching synchro for the 2017-2018 season.The Adult Synchro team skates out of the Glacier Arena.The successful coach must demonstrate:
  • Passion for synchronized skating;
  • Solid technical expertise;
  • Ability to develop choreography;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to instruct skaters in synchronized skating techniques, maneuvers and formations;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Club coaching staff.

The Prince of Wales Skating Club Synchronized Skating Program is currently looking for coaches for the Adult II and Adult III teams. The Prince of Wales Skating Club Synchronized Skating Program is currently undergoing program renewal. The Club Board of Directors invites applications from qualified skating coaches interested in working with our skaters and coaching a synchro team for the 2017-2018 season. This contractual opportunity is renewable for the 2018-19 season; subject to review by the Club Executive.  There are currently six synchronized skating teams with approximately 100 registered synchronized skaters. The teams currently skate out of Feildian Gardens and Twin Rinks. We have enjoyed great success in recent years and teams compete at both the Provincial and National levels. More Information

The Flying Blades Skating Club is currently looking for an enthusiastic, team player professional head coach to join our club for the 2017/2018 season. We offer programs for CanSkate, STARSkate, Competitive Skating and Synchronized Skating.

The interested Candidate should be a registered Skate Canada Coach be Primary STARSkate trained status or a Primary STARSkate Certified Coach. Position includes group CanSkate instruction as well as group STARSkate lessons with opportunities for private lessons along with coaching our Synchronized skating program.

Our coach must be able to teach strong fundamentals to beginning and developing skaters as well as learn to skate to our CanSkaters. The Candidate should be familiar with the new STAR 1-5 test program, or willing to learn and implement in their teaching with our club programs. The Flying Blades SC season runs from September – April with the possibility to expand from July – April. The club, which has existed for over 50 years, is located in Clarenville NL, 180 km west of St. John’s.

The Conception Bay North Skating Club, located in Bay Roberts and Harbour Grace, NL is currently looking for qualified Freelance Skate Canada Coaches for our CanSkate and StarSkate program for the 2016-2017 season. Opportunities are available for approximately 20 hours per week. The skating season runs from October – April on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Salary is competitive based on experience/training.

Seaport Skaters Skating Club, Botwood, is currently seeking a head coach for the 2016-2017 skating season. Minimum Primary StarSkate certification, current first aid certification, and a registered Skate Canada coach in good standing are required. Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to, providing coaching to CanSkate, Junior, Intermediate and Senior skaters; overall coordination of program delivery, on ice instruction, planning and skater development; attendance at competitions and test days and involvement with planning the year end ice show.

While Seaport Skaters desire is to have a full time head coach, we are open to new ideas and willing to entertain alternate and flexible coaching schedules to best meet the needs and wants of both our skaters and available coaches.

Silver Wings Skating Club is seeking a qualified Skate Canada Coach to assume the role of Club Coach for the 2016-17 skating season. Our club offers a variety of Skate Canada programs and our season typically begins mid-October and runs through April with 13-15 hours of coaching available each week. Minimum Primary StarSkate Certification required. Candidates must have current First Aid Certification and be a Skate Canada Coaching member in good standing.

The Club Coach is responsible for the overall coordination of program delivery, on ice instruction, planning and skater development. Other duties include attending competitions and test days, planning and executing a year-end ice show, coach scheduling, and parent communications. All responsibilities held by the position will with the full support of the Club Executive.

While the goal of Silver Wings Skating Club is to secure a Club Coach, as a progressive and ever-growing club whose members and executive are open to new ideas, we are willing to entertain alternate and flexible coaching arrangements that will meet the needs of the club, its members and the coaching staff.

  • Coaching on can skate, pre junior,  junior and senior times ~ 13 hours a week
  • Mentoring /supervising other coaches on staff assisting on the pre juniors and can skate session.
  •  Provide technical training in group settings and private coaching sessions for junior and senior skaters
  • Attend competitions and facilitate 1-2 test days, plan ice show, and execute ice show.  When coaching development opportunities arise in our section, we would support attendance.
  • Administration  hours: planning coaching sessions, prepping skater goals,  groupings, organizing choreography, parent communications, ice show, executive meetings, any Christmas shows etc

Polaris FSC, Labrador City, NL is seeking a freelance coach with Skate Canada NCCP Certified Level 1 or higher to join our coaching team. Our season runs from September to April. We can offer 11 hours per week with the potential for more depending on ice availability. Also there is potential for more work with another local club. We have a healthy membership and currently offer PreCanSkate, CanSkate and StarSkate programs. We are seeking a self-motivated coach who can communicate and work professionally with skaters of all ages and levels. You would be responsible for group and private lessons in all disciplines (Freeskate, Dance, Skills, Competitive and Interpretive). The successful candidate must be willing to attend competitions if required and assist with the planning/choreography of our annual Ice Show.
