• 1979-80? Moved to Dunville and became a member of Prince of Wales FSC bringing her daughter into St. John’s to skate several times weekly
• 1980′s helped organize and start Trinity-Placentia CFS and PARC FSC
• 1980-82 Avalon Region Director
• 1982 -85? Region Director of newly formed Eastern Region  helped with affiliation of Ice Crystal FSC in Marystown; organized test days, Canskate clinics, off season schools
• 1984 Newfoundland/Labrador Volunteer of the Year
• 1985-86 Section Director of Ice Breaker Magazine and Publicity
• 1986-91 Section Treasurer  during Shirley’s tenure as treasurer the Section went from a deficit position to a position of having one year’s worth of funding in reserve
• 1993-94 Finance Chairman
• 1992 Awarded 25 year pin

For many years Shirley has been a dealer for Jerry’s skating world and attends many club registrations and competitions  always turning back a portion of money to the clubs and, while a member of the Section, also to the section. In this year of 2004 Shirley was still attending competitions with her goods.
