Premiers Athletic Awards

 The Premier’s Athletic Awards (PAA) is a component under the Athlete Assistance Program and is designed to recognize athletic excellence of the province’s elite athletes. Financial support is provided to select athletes to defray the costs incurred through training and competition and must be used for this purpose only.  Applications must be received at Section office not later than December 31, 2012Overview  Application

Skate Canada Challenge

Skate Newfoundland and Labrador skaters competed in  the Skate Canada Challenge Event, December 5-9, 2012 in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Dylan Short competed in PreNovice men. He was 11th after the short, then had an excellent long programme, scoring 50.61. This was the second best long of the night. Dylan’s overall score of 75.75 beat his own provincial record by over 12 points, and earned him 6th place.
Ashley Morgan and Julia Mercer competed in Junior women. Ashley Morgan scored 97.81 overall, a provincial record, and finished 28th, Julia placed 36th with a score of 85.73. Matthew Power and Robyn-Lynn McGrath placed 5th in Novice pairs, scoring 79.43.
In Novice women, Grace Woodland placed 32nd (score 74.98), Emily Benson 33rd (74.56), Ashley Bishop 39th (70.77), and Robyn-Lynn McGrath 40th (69.20).In PreNovice women Sophia Burke finished 33rd, Kaitlyn Dawe 49th,  Kaitlin Harte 52nd and Jadyn Barron 55th. Matthew and Alex Young competed in Junior pairs, and finished in 6th place scoring 101.05

2013 Skate Atlantica
